Lindsay Campbell
Manager, Sustainability
Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP)
2025 YWE Award Winner PROFILE
Lindsay Campbell is a pragmatic, trusted voice in Canada’s energy sector - a leader known for turning complex emissions and policy challenges into grounded, collaborative solutions. With more than 15 years of experience spanning field operations, regulatory development, industry advocacy, and technology‑enabled innovation, she has built a career defined by clarity, credibility, and a steady commitment to performance.
As Manager, Sustainability at the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, Lindsay advocates for practical climate policy and regulation for Canada’s upstream oil and gas industry. She collaborates with members to develop data-driven, solutions-oriented recommendations for governments to support safe, reliable, affordable and responsibly produced energy. Earlier in her career at the Alberta Energy Regulator, she played a lead role in developing Alberta’s first methane‑specific regulations, designing regulatory pathways that enabled advanced detection technologies to be deployed at scale.
Lindsay’s leadership is grounded in accountability and empathy. Through her experiences, she has come to recognize how important a supportive leader can be—someone who addresses problems directly, advocates for their team's efforts, and ensures every individual feels respected and encouraged. Her colleagues describe her as kind, steady, and systems‑minded, someone who distills complexity and helps teams move toward durable, evidence‑based decisions. She brings this same clarity to innovation, challenging the status quo when it no longer serves outcomes and championing approaches that integrate policy, technology, and data.
Community and mentorship are central to Lindsay’s impact, with a distinct emphasis on supporting women in the energy industry. Her passion for advancing opportunities for females in this sector was first ignited more than a decade ago during her tenure as YWE Acumen Manager, where she was dedicated to helping young women build business and energy literacy. Since then, Lindsay has served on boards such as the Clean Air Strategic Alliance and the Bow River Basin Council and continues to actively support networks that elevate women working in energy. She mentors students and early-career professionals, particularly young women, through both formal programs and informal conversations, believing that even small moments of guidance can meaningfully shape a career. Lindsay’s leadership philosophy, grounded in the principle “work hard and be kind,” reflects her commitment to fostering ambition while prioritizing empathy and inclusion.
As a recipient of the YWE Award, Lindsay hopes to further elevate practical conversations about performance, leadership, and opportunity within Canada’s energy sector. She hopes to use the platform to highlight the real progress underway on emissions performance and responsible development, and to model a career path defined by intentional choices, adaptability, and integrity. Looking ahead, she is energized by a more balanced national dialogue on energy and is committed to shaping policy, mentoring emerging leaders, and advancing solutions that secure a competitive and sustainable future for Canada.
Congratulations Lindsay!
